Web Alert Banner
![]() |
The University has implemented an automatic alert banner that will notify web users in the event of a campus emergency. Once activated by authorized Public Safety personnel, the banner will appear across key UConn websites in the uconn.edu domain. It is one of several methods of communication that may be used to notify the campus community of an emergency.
The color-coded alert banner will appear at the top of webpages, as seen in the image shown here and will contain a brief message about the location and nature of the incident. It will be linked to the Alert website, which will provide the latest information and regular updates as they become available.
Depending upon the nature of the emergency, the alert banner will be in one of two colors:
Yellow indicates an incident or condition is occurring or may be imminent that may affect the University and associated community. Possible uses of the system with a yellow banner include a missing person, a bomb threat, or a hazardous material incident. |
|
Red indicates a severe incident or condition is occurring or is imminent that will affect the University and associated community. Possible uses of the system with a red banner include unlawful use of a firearm, a tornado warning, or a structure fire. |
